CAOL Celebrates National Train Day

May 7 was National Train Day, and California came out in full force. This slideshow has pictures from events held in Fresno, Bakersfield, Sacramento and Martinez, and train enthusiasts of all ages came out to show their dedication. Our CAOL volunteers handed out all kinds of great stuff, and informed their communities about how to make safe decisions around the rails.

The National Event was as successful as our state-wide version. An appearance from Gladys Knight (with the Pips, of ‘Midnight Train to Georgia’ fame) capped off a seriously successful celebration.

A big thank you to everyone involved. We’re already looking forward to making next year’s event even better.

If you’ve got pictures from an event we weren’t at, or anything you’d like to share from Train Day (or any other event, please send it on over, and we’ll be sure to post it. Thank you all again.

CAOL Volunteers Appearing: Holly Vogel, Joe Gross, Steve Ceballos, Gayle Jackson, Bob Tidwell, Bob Alexander, Virginia Lees, Jim Esparza, Richard Nickerson
