California Operation Lifesaver (CAOL) is very pleased to welcome Sara Logan aboard as California Operation Lifesaver’s new Assistant State Coordinator (ASC). Sara begins her journey with us starting today, June 1, 2015.
Sara will be the “go to” person for all of our Southern Region Volunteers, working on presentations, events, keeping all our Southern Volunteers up to date on any new training or updates, training new CAOL Authorized Volunteers, and many other duties.
Sara will work closely with the State Coordinator, Nancy Sheehan-McCulloch to assist in our rail safety mission; including growing our rail safety partnerships throughout Southern CA, participating on the Southern and San Diego Rail Safety Teams as the California Operation Lifesaver representative and more.
Sara was raised in a “railroad family,” her father is a retired Central Region Safety Officer for Union Pacific Railroad. Her husband, Tom is also a railroader. Sara and Tom have two girls in high school, Megan will be a senior next year and her youngest Emily will be a junior. The family enjoys their yellow lab; “Jack.“
The great news for CAOL is that Sara brings experience to the ASC position. Approximately 4 years ago Sara worked with us as the Southern Region Coordinator and brings OL experience and expertise to the rail safety table.
Over the next few weeks Sara and Nancy will be working on transitioning Sara into the ASC position with training, organizing, and planning.
We are excited to welcome Sara on board our California Operation Lifesaver Team!
Operation Lifesaver’s mission is to end collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and along railroad rights of way. A national network of trained volunteers provides free presentations on rail safety.
